It’s a joy, really, to see all of this Microsoft software on Linux. We tend to forget how impossible this would have been to us just 10 years ago and since forever.

It was never impossible, just not lucrative. Now that "developers developers developers" are the product again via cloud services they realize their target platform is all platforms so that they capture the largest base of people who will want to use their cloud platform.
